The years were not kind

With the passing of well-nigh a decade, the events and growth of The Autumn are forgotten by the developers, with a retcon allowing for a retread: the death of his family tortures Max(McAffrey doing bang-up with decent material), who disappears into a bottle. He is recruited past Raul(Dean, charming) for a job in Sao Paolo(which is accurate and detailed... you get to become effectually in information technology, visiting, among others, a nightclub, a mansion, and virtually engaging and threatening, the favela), bodyguarding rich socialite brats. When someone nether his care is abducted, he tries to get them back(equally unlikeable equally they, and nearly characters in this, are).

You tin can already see some of the problems. While a new setting is fine(and kudos for the choice to have most locals talk Portuguese, without translation - we feel his isolation, the strange nature of his surround), and it is explained why he ends up in that location, it has no connection to him, he feels placed in someone else'due south story. It's no longer personal, and at that place'due south no new fleshing out of him as a person.

In many ways, this feels like Kane & Lynch. With it being him instead of them, it doesn't brand that much sense. And one time one has drawn that comparing, here's where those work(I'll put those parts in parentheses at the cease of sentences), and this fails: what you'll realize in this is that whether you've played this for minutes or hours, what's happening volition be the same. Nothing is getting achieved, so what's your motivation to keep playing(as opposed to modest, and sickening victories - y'all're doing what yous have to, and no progress is pleasant, information technology'south merely getting you towards the peace and hopefully closure of the conclusion)? Cutscenes(with inclement, mitt-held cinematography and color blurring, evoking the sense of being there, and being overpowered by what's going on around you - with the panels and then replaced, what was a retelling is now an inescapable reality) take control from you(immediately breaking upwards your getting into it... and this happens within minutes of each other, there may be as much time merely watching as playing; it will exit you in a bad position, with the worst weapon ready, no reloading and you not having time to exercise so yourself - and the foes typically already know where y'all are) and lead yous to the next shooting gallery, rinse and repeat(rather than the more varied game-play, especially in the '07 original where you assault somewhere, complete something vital, and then exfiltrate, trying and failing to practice so without causing damage and hurting those you don't mean to).

You simply can't choose the approach(it even chooses to spawn more opponents, early information technology may even do so in your blind spot, preventing you lot from getting your bearings - and then expects y'all to gather ammo, as well as painkillers, that thankfully hateful you have to work for health), for the first fourth dimension in these, and exploration is all just gone. At least this does exercise many fun set-pieces where y'all're leaping through the air, on a vehicle or the like, where you aim and fire. The drunkenness might explicate the sluggish, unresponsive controls that cause needless frustration - it'll rush ahead or end in its tracks with no warning, and instead of preventing y'all from going that shut, proximity to walls volition brand yous point your gun up - once again, suddenly, and taking fourth dimension to get back out of that mess. I guess Assassin'south Creed is not the only victim of such. Vaulting over something is what y'all take instead of jumping - and you can't always tell what you can "climb".

Yes, areas are very modest, and action is heavily scripted. Replayability(other than 5 difficulty settings) is present via the unlockables(some of them also for SP, and all of them benefit both modes), such as finding Golden versions of what'southward in your arsenal(with a more realistic arroyo, it'south now limited to one two-handed, like a rifle or grenade/rocket launcher, and two one-handed ones, whatever of the latter can be dual-wielded, doesn't even have to be 2 of the aforementioned type - not even only pistols, as well a sawn-off and Micro Uzis!) that will better their stats, and Arcade. Yes, New York Minute returns, and it'south joined by two other ways to redo SP: Score Assault where any kills and vehicle/similar destruction counts towards a possible medal, and Challenge, where you are given specific, tough tasks, such as "make all your eight rounds headshots", "accident upward guys by taking out the car they're standing by"(meanwhile, they're going straight for you!).

The comprehend system is the almost basic I've seen since before that trait caught on... the coil is present, nonetheless can't be used to get from one of these bits to another, nor tin can you lot round corners. Disengaging from it leaves yous a sitting duck, fifty-fifty if yous're crouched! It also appears that those who worked on that(the whole minute they spent doing so) were not on speaking terms with those working on the dodge move. Neither can launch comfortably into the other(and certainly they don't complement the other... this offers nearly no innovation in this area). Bullet-fourth dimension is glorious as always, and you can at present deadening down the Last Enemy Killed photographic camera, equally you, if you so cull, empty your clips into them. If you are almost dead, you get a grace period, in slo-mo, to take out the one who wounded you.

Multiplayer has TDM, Deathmatch and, when people play, Last Man Standing. Gang Wars has players fight with ane of the up to v Crews they've joined, five objective-based rounds in a row, where the winner of one volition determine who is in the improve position for the adjacent - fail an assassination? Escape!

There is abiding strong linguistic communication, a lot of disturbing content, brutal, encarmine gore and sexuality in this. I recommend this purely to big fans of Rockstar and current shooters. vii/10

Not a fun time

A lot of May Payne fans were dismayed by the early publicity for this game, fearing that it completely transformed their beloved Noir hero. For the most part this is a reinvention of the character, simply it is still very true-blue to the roots of the previous games. However, I was non very impressed with it.

With his family dead and time to come uncertain at best, Max takes a task as a bodyguard for a wealthy South American family unit who only to happen to the target of vicious bad guys. Strap yourself in for the long haul because you lot'll spend the next 12 hours of your life shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting with no puzzle solving, or stealth, or diversity in combat to break-upwards the gameplay.

Max Payne 3 comes across as a hybrid of Dead to Rights: Retribution and Kane and Lynch two: Domestic dog Days while retaining the fun and enjoyment of neither. The whole game is a grim, dark, nihilistic, ugly, humorless, and quite depressing slog through swarms of wasted, cheap human lives. Practice you enjoy murdering loads and loads and loads of people. If so then Max Payne three is for you, but I don't want to know yous. Yeah, I do realize that many video games take bad guys that are there simply to exist gunned-down but never quite as graphic and agonizing as this. Who on Globe can really relish this sort of thing.

It does characteristic a dainty variety of locations, from the snowy Brooklyn rooftops to the swamps of South America, but in that location's never actually moment to stop and take information technology all in - dissimilar Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (quite a like game) where y'all scan the scenic backdrops. I too found the controls to be strong and sluggish and non suitable for a game where quick reflexes are a must. Cut-scenes go along for manner likewise long and the "faulty video" aesthetic is only annoying.

I wouldn't recommend this game.

There are 68 trophies featured in Max Payne iii (21 of them being from multiplayer DLC) though the trophies from the main game are very hard to achieve. I won only nine by the time I finished it, and the game is and so unenjoyable at that place'due south no fashion I'one thousand going back to win more.

Great mechanics makes this a superb game

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Max Payne 3" (2012) (2012) was one of the all-time looking games in it's release year. Gameplay itself is outstanding - shooting, bullet time effects and gorgeous graphics likewise as intriguing (but non highly involving) story makes this a must play experience + add together a great (and surprisingly very deep) multiplayer.

Max Payne itself is the star of the game. I loved the surrounding - everything looked superbly realistic, with tons of details. There are also tons achievements - good luck in completing them all. But this game at the times (many, many, many times) tin be also very frustrating, because you will die a lot in information technology - A LOT - and i kinda liked that realistic (if y'all say it so when our main hero takes ~5-8 bullets and survives with some painkillers) approach. Dialogs and screenplay are fantabulous.

Overall, "Max Payne 3" is different and so two previous excellent games. Terrific game-play and presentation makes this a must play.

Interesting activity scenes and a mature story

I enjoyed Max Payne 3.it accept some very well made action scenes and some"mise en scene"are pretty well made and give it an unique look. The story as well is pretty well made for an action video game and nonetheless accept some discovery and some revenge. I need to say that the mise en scene was for a lot for me in the appreciation of the story. I recommend it.

Forgotten jewel from 2012.

The gameplay is some of the best of its generation, but the gritty and pulpy story were what kept me playing this one over and once again. Information technology plays out like an old crime novel you lot'd find in a moldy used bookstore and, man, am I hither for it... Even the multiplayer in this game was a good time. Took a lot of skill and didn't hold your hand, which could also be argued for the campaign missions. Bang-up game.

Max Payne is Back With a Vengeance!!!

Warning: Spoilers

The Max Payne game series have e'er been some of my favorite computer games. The original is a archetype and have fond memories of it. I was psyched when they finally appear the 3rd installment, simply I heard they were getting a new voice actor and Max shaved his head, looking like Zach Galifianakis did in The Hangover Part II. Only, when I finally played the game, my doubts were over. Max is back in a big manner. Information technology'due south very unlike, but yet a Max Payne game. You all the same take bullet fourth dimension, painkillers, and Max narrating, voiced by James McCaffrey, the true voice of Max Payne. This game is much more than difficult than the previous two. More killing, more pervasive language, better graphics, and introduces encompass system to the series, allowing yourself to peak out to make certain all the bad guys are dead.

Information technology'due south been ix years since Max Payne and Mona Sax took on the Inner Circle. Max still suffers from depression and going thru a mid-life crunch. Max has retired from the NYPD, and moved to São Paulo, Brazil to protect the wealthy Branco family. When Fabiana, the wife of Rodrigo Branco, is kidnapped, Max is thrust back into action, killing anyone who gets in his fashion. The game is very suspenseful, and a great adrenaline blitz. I highly recommend MAX PAYNE 3!!!

What a Pain!

I play either console games or PC games, and I got this to attempt out on my newly built puter, and I was disappointed with the overall look and feel of this game, way to many cut scenes, and most times you accept to endure them, if you lot similar it or not! Sure I don't heed a few cut or story scenes, merely they elevate on fashion to long, I want more play! the story line must accept been written by a teenager, as I establish the story but way to childish, way over the tiptop, this game goes for the flash bang approach, it's just not for me.

I played the latest Batman game and the graphics out do MP3, this game is just way to annoying for me.

Sadly I can only requite this childish game a four out of 10

A good game, but not the best of the series.

Max Payne and Max Payne ii were groundbreaking and innovative games that were released more than than a decade or so agone. Everything well-nigh them was crawly, similar the never seen before bullet fourth dimension, the cool looking comic-page cutscenes, and the amazing story and gameplay. Skip to 2012 and Rockstar release Max Payne iii, this time more than different in many ways to its predecessors. Firstly, while the previous games were ready in the cold, dark, snowy nights of L.A., this game is set generally in the clarion oestrus of Sao Paulo, Brazil and I didn't really capeesh it because it didn't feel like Max Payne anymore. Secondly, the comic-page cutscenes are gone as well to be replaced with movement scenes and I was a fleck bothered every bit well by this because it was starting to feel less and less like the Max Payne we knew and loved. Another thing about the cutscenes in this game was that there were as well much and command was taken abroad from the gamer a lot, yet the cutscenes were awesome and worth it. I could keep comparing the game to its predecessors but I think you get my point.

Max Payne has a strong storyline supported past groovy animations and brilliant voice acting. No graphic symbol feels or sounds cheesy thanks to the animations and the talent of the cast members. The animations, while although can't compare with Crysis 2 or God of War 3, are still pretty neat and clear. As you lot travel through the slums of Sao Paulo y'all begin to see the insane amount of particular put into buildings and the environment effectually you. The story is different this fourth dimension around, Max is still haunted past the memories of his murdered wife and and child, but this fourth dimension he is protecting some rich family unit. Patently things don't go well and someone gets kidnapped and its upward to Max to wreak hell and get her dorsum. The catastrophe was a bit predictable but overall, the story was very immersing. 1 of the main things we as an audition beloved near Max Payne is the amount of ass he kicks. The game has strong violence and strong language likewise notwithstanding in a game like this yous cannot accept one without the other. As you face waves of enemies later enemies, you have no choice only to spray the walls and the floor with their blood. In that location a different guns to cull from yet all of them have the same objective: kill. The utilize of bullet time is actually handy in this game and it is crucial for y'all to apply it in order to survive sure parts of the game. Plus, the game looks hell cool in slo-mo.

Overall, while this game might be different to its predecessors, it doesn't mean that it is bad. It is a dandy game nonetheless no a game worthy of ten. I urge every gamer to play it. viii/ten.

Pales in comparison with the Remedy games.

Max Payne 3 was kind of a permit down to me for the simple fact of losing its identity. The game is crawly as an action slice, simply a lot of the elements from the previous 2 games by Remedy that I barbarous in love with were lost, like the comic book passages, the gritty noir environments, Max's sense of humor, clever irony and poetic narration, the dream sequences and another awesome things that fabricated me vicious in love with the two Remedy games. The only sequence of the third game that comes more than close to emulate the feel of the previous ones was the flashback sequence, that's it, but it was just close. For the first game I give a ix/10, great game, for the 2nd game, a straight and glorified ten/10, flawless in every sense, and even if times had changed, playing these two games today didn't reduce my devotion and adoration for them, but for the tertiary game, sorry guys, information technology gets a 5.5/10, not that good, it lost many of the identity acquired in the beginning two, it seemed like a dissimilar game to me. Hope that they tin bring dorsum Max's globe as I retrieve from the first 2 games in a quaternary installment.

Could take been good, but nearly ruined by flaws.

An OK game that might have lived up to its predecessor if not for the overly long unskippable cutscenes, terrible checkpoint save organization, and nauseatingly overdone 'Idiot box interference' screen effects.

Its non the worst console port, just its withal a port. If y'all load an earlier level, your progress is not saved. The story is decent though, and the various locations looks authentic. The graphics are good (its a huge 31GB download). Some of the set pieces feel like any bland console shooting gallery (on-rails section complete with inaccurate overheating machine gun and unlimited ammo). Flaws aside, Rockstar has made a decent game that however has enough 'Max Payne' in it, but I cant aid just think Remedy (who made the first Max Payne games, and the fantabulous Alan Wake) could have done better.

Worth the steam sale toll.

Max Payne three - Game Review

When I heard nearly Max Payne 3, I naturally was interested, I loved the first 2 games and even though Remedy were not the ones working on iii, I still love Rockstar, they are able to tell not bad stories similar in GTA San Andreas or Crimson Dead Redemption, so I was yet very optimistic. Now, Max Payne 3 is not a bad game, not even close, just I can't deny information technology did felt like a step down compared to the previous games, the story is interesting at parts but after a while, you start to loose interest, while is a adept story, is non equally intriguing and engaging as the stories of the first two games and at times it gets pretty irksome, the change of location was an interesting choice and they do take advantage of it, just information technology makes the game feel a bit afar from information technology's ain franchise, thankfully there are some breve flashback scenes that take you to New Jersey and they feel more similar to the Max Payne games, now gameplay is something that has been improved considerably, the shooting mechanics are more polished than ever and the bullet time was perfected hither, the graphics wait gorgeous and the musical score past Health is neat, in regard of technical aspects, Max Payne iii is a well-nigh perfect game, merely in regards of story and characters, this game is a flake of a permit downwardly, other than Pasos, at that place aren't many memorable new characters, none of the antagonists feel as unique as Nichole Horne or the Gognitti family or Lupino, none of the secondary characters are as memorable every bit Vladimir or Mona Sax, and that'due south a shame since this have ever been a potent point in the franchise. Something I did liked about this game is the kind of story they were aiming, the first game was a neo-noir revenge story, the second game was a neo-noir romance story and this game is a neo-noir redemption story, that is actually a brilliant thought, making the Max Payne trilogy feel like i long story with 3 different acts, the execution though is the problem. Similar I said, Max Payne iii is past no means a bad game, in fact is pretty good, the graphics, gameplay and attention to detail are amazing, just the story and characters are unfortunately weaker and while the game is a fitting conclusion to Max'south story, is not quite equally strong every bit information technology should take been.

Disappointing story, great action

Max Payne ane and 2 was ane of those (rare) action games with good a la Mickey Spillane stories told very neatly in comic novella manner packed in noir surrounding .

So what has inverse and is Max still filled with pain?

9 year subsequently NY events Max is even so drowning his sadness in alcohol and painkillers when his old colleague Raul pays him a visit and proposes a new job. Shooting in bar takes Max to new chapter in life where he together with Raul starts a bodyguard job for wealthy Brazilian family. After mysterious attacks at members of family Max is once again being involved in situation that requires his skills...

First that the players volition discover is that Max has turned from comic like storytelling to blitheness. Depending on individual gustatory modality, some will see it as step forwards. To me, it seems like more thing of going with the flow – noir setting is lost together with imagination that was required of thespian. Stylized comic noir with good sound design worked perfectly. In this i, all the fails in animation that endeavour to resemblance activity movie surface then hands – strong faces of characters in moments of their emotional elevation, bonny semi naked woman that don't look like that at all because of their robot moves etc.

And the story does not help. After nine years Max is still in pain from loss of his wife and kid, motive the new players volition not understand and screenwriters apply it to make full the story gaps and connect it to platitude family unit thriller of people Max is protecting as seen in B class thrillers with all the lather opera betrayal. Unfortunately to make full story with scenes of Max drinking and taking painkillers in his apartment gets ho-hum later on 4th time and so does Max delivering Bogart liners just for their sake. As commencement two stories avoided to look funny in overusing this stuff here you will notice it fake. After half the story you lot will stop caring and just focus on action...

...and activity is washed close to excellent. Controls are responding great, armory adequate to one'southward gaming preferences so that yous can bravely go into the action using bullet time with double Berettas or brand your mode tactically advancing from comprehend to comprehend with attack rifle. Enemies AI is likewise good, and then that you will take out the calorie-free armored street guys easily and on hard level accept problem with SWAT team that will endeavor to smoke y'all out of the comprehend applying team work.

Game design varies from average to excellent, but you won't go bored. Information technology took me approximately 14 hours to finish the game campaign taking my time which is decent for shooter.

If this Max appeared first it would take been great shooter which lacks story, like this we volition ad minus for implementing aught significantly new and plus for upgrading skilful shooting.

Good shooting with disappointing story when taking in mind its origins 8/x.

Perfect shooting with a less perfect story

Rockstar did a bully chore in the shooting section for this game. You really exercise feel like a complete badass when using slo mo and jumping over obstacle well firing at you lot enemies. When it comes to the story I'one thousand not 100% on-board. Max is a very unproblematic graphic symbol and I think he is meant to exist portrayed that fashion, though, I never felt connected to him and I felt he was a very stereotypical action anti-hero excluding his obvious alcoholic problems. I definitely felt bad for Max as a character just he wasn't super likeable. The stakes never felt loftier in the gameplay as the people he was rescuing/recovering didn't really have whatever pregnant to Max and it was not like they were loved ones or even people that had much meaning to Max. Information technology all felt kinda dried. The blur And weird colour effect slapped on peak of cutscenes also bothered my eyes a lot and information technology felt quite overused though this isn't a very big complaint. The game was decent and well worth a play simply for me at least, is definitely not something id write home about, merely I do completely understand why for some people this game could exist a solid 10/10.

Disappointment

To begin, It was a skilful game and has a good story but it is a disappointment because the game was titled Max Payne. This sequel was nix like the previous parts which I beloved, to engagement. It was like the spirit of Max Payne was lost. It was like any other game, the concept of Max Payne, the slow mo's, the newyork city background, infact everything that made the game special wasn't in that location. Although information technology was a good game but it hurts to play it every bit Max Payne.

A Game Fabricated by People who didn't Understand the Series

The original Max Payne is a parody of the generic detective story. His name is "Max Payne," his wife and daughter are dead, he speaks in metaphors and he constantly has self serious voice over narrations. That was the joke of the game. It was also somewhat innovative with its bullet time mechanic. Max Payne 3 is exactly what the original was parodying but without the innovation. The story is basically only "anything but subtle juxtaposition" on top of a dandy example of a recent, male, Mary Sue in gaming. He isn't interested in much by serving the plot which wouldn't exist a problem if they didn't retcon the parody aspect.

Warning: Spoilers

i bought this game concluding month and it is easily the best game of the year until now i actually enjoyed every unmarried minute of information technology ,everytime i sat in front of information technology i never wanted information technology to end and keep in heed that this game has a very long campaign and also really vicious ,just ignore the haters this game is as proficient as the starting time 2 ,even the graphics were awesome and The story is phenomenal just like the other Max Payne games. The combat is smooth and keeps the sometime school feel of the original Max Paynes fifty-fifty with the new encompass system. The visuals are amazing too and pleasing to the eye and specially the muliplayer is as well a lot of fun so i highly recommend it

Max Payne 3 is an authoritative must have for absolutely any fan even remotely interested in the genre.

The fact of the matter is that the only way to really capeesh and avert some valid criticisms of Max Payne three, 1 must see this game as more of a new envisioning of the franchise.

What made the original game stand out aside from the bullet fourth dimension gameplay was minute details; the fact that groups of enemies had hilarious conversations betwixt each other, or the ingenious narrative with catchy phrases that practically defines the noir genre, and the entire dark shades and tones that overtook the graphics- Max Payne 3 does not so much do abroad with these things equally update and modernize the series to meet the standards of today.

For some players, immersion may be instantaneous from the claw, and for others, it may take longer, and there may exist those who essentially surrender because they find it mundane, however; the game is best seen similar a playable movie that, by the second disc, truly shines: The narrative becomes more acute, the graphic symbol of Max Payne becomes polished, and the story begins to pick upwardly with quite some twists and turns.

The gameplay is and so refined that this game is the pinnacle of its genre and with the graphics and attending to detail being by far the best for action shooters thus far, Max Payne 3 truly shines equally the must take and must play for anyone who wants an experience beyond annihilation out in the market.

Another important notation is the surprising amount of replay value and goodies, such every bit collectible "clues" and "gold guns" placed throughout levels that encourage exploration of detailed environments. This adds a definitive flair to what would otherwise be a straightforward shooter. The simply real downsides are hands compensated, with the first existence the minute skewering throughout some of the longer cut scenes, which is actually just the game loading and also washed deliberately for fashion, and also some of the numerous of cut scenes throughout levels – these can exist skipped.

Notwithstanding, the fact that there are absolutely no traditional load times throughout whatever of the levels again strongly contribute to making this game one of the best of its genre, and betwixt this and the 360 degree gameplay, polished and refined bullet fourth dimension, a duck, cover and bullheaded-fire organisation that is effective and at times necessary, and a script with clever dialogue that eventually does pick up throughout the second disc, Max Payne iii is an authoritative must have for absolutely any fan even remotely interested in the genre.

Pros Gameplay, production values, graphics, sound, sound , script, replay value

Cons Long cut scenes cannot be skipped

Score 9.viii/ten

Aye he is dorsum!!!!!

After a long await the gaming mascot of action games has returned. Picking up the franchise from game developers Remedy, A Rockstar studios collaboration puts out just what one-time fans accept expected from a Max Payne game. Fresh and improvising upon the existing game this is indeed the male monarch of tertiary person activity games. Splitting the review into 2 parts as I choose to review games based on the immersion and indeed game play.

Story- A good effort put out by the Rockstar team. Exactly what you would wait from the typical Dan Houser manner of writing video game scripts. Max is cynical and the story can take you to sure points where feel he is a piddling likewise depressed but then again this is Max Payne. Putting the player in his shoes psychologically is what Rockstar does and information technology does a good job at that. A practiced story line that is cracking at all.

The game- Graphically great tagged with great game play that does not get old and fantastic audio shows the alluvion quality of this product in the single histrion campaign. The added comprehend system is only a small getaway from the frantic firefights. Its all nearly keeping the flow and maintaining a skillful and perfect improvisation for each situation. Just remember command of Max is smooth and once this clicks with the gamer the game begins to polish. A decently lengthy entrada that is well done and will keep yous coming back for a few more spins on varying difficulties. The tech used to make the game is good so the enemies don't really practice the same things on each play through. Apart from this the diversity of levels is beautiful and something but you can expect Rockstar to pull off. Multi-player has not been a category i ventured into much but it is definite to proceed yous playing over and over once again for a expert time. Rockstar has washed a great job here.

Faults- The lack of dead-human walking. Seriously Rockstar should accept considered this mode which throws unlimited enemies to the player. Pocket-size glitches fifty-fifty in the single thespian version. The almost cutting scenes which cant exist skipped generally can be an irritation for the actor every bit you just want to get into the game ASAP at to the lowest degree on second and 3rd play through. A small free roaming environment similar to the Rockstar'due south game the Warriors would have been a practiced idea also.

Conclusion- a great game.good value for a game that is released these days. Compact with single and multi player content that is overflowing with quality. A must buy for third person and action game fans.

Good game, merely...

This game is brilliant on graphics, vox acting, effects...

You really want to leap in every gratuitous time you take considering information technology that awesome! But...

What failed and ruined whole game is incredible annoying cut scenes and fact that game forced you to watch whole(it's unstoppable!).

Second thing is absolutely horrible checkpoint system: Y'all volition become where games desire'southward, non where you desire. You MUST watch your every movement without researching because if you don't-some last guy you didn't see will impale you lot with sniper or in deep hideout and you will be thrown x minutes before. It's that annoying, trust me.

So, if you find any "cheat" to save game when you lot want and way to skip all cutting scenes-this game will rock and it volition be virtually pure 10/10.

Until and then you will be frustrated large time in this game.

Only thing good was the extras : (

I had high hopes for this game, merely....

Halfway through the game and i'm tired of it.

1)Tired of the 60's/lxx's manner cut of scenes (cuts into 2-3 smaller scenes & sliding over here and there). This happens on EVERY cut-scene. Just overkilled it.

2)Tired of the constant distortion. At first I figured it was due to the drinking and painkillers he is taking, but even when he does sober up it still keeps distorting the picture. Overkill again with this artsy stuff.

3)Tired of the NPCs in the game. Utterly useless. All they practice is tell yous to "hurry up!" and CONSTANTLY, over and over every few seconds. And then damn annoying!!! REALLY REALLY abrasive!!!! I call back they've killed ii-three people and then far, most of the time they sit at that place with a gun in manus and pretty much never help, but telling to you lot "hurry up". As well, y'all become no time to check things out and search the scene, you take too long and your partner dies, start over from checkpoint.

four)Several times i'grand by myself and the last shot comes from out of nowhere. Several times i've taken the terminal shot, and before it hits them it cuts short and information technology slips into a cut-scene.

5)In this current earth where we are pushing out DVDs and going to Blu-Ray and college quality, for some reason they went with 720 instead of 1080. WHY in the globe would you do that?

6)Attemped to play multi-player. Guessing the host left, but instead of taking you lot back to the multi-player options scene, it COMPLETELY booted me out the game and back to the PS3 XMB scene.

7)The soundtrack, well, it's more like groundwork noise. There were a agglomeration of other tracks i've heard (like in the clubs, etc. within the game), that are non on the soundtrack. I would rather take those songs.

viii)I've tired to alter guns and it wouldn't let me! One point it went into a cutting-scene and car switched to a weapon I didn't even have ammo for! Somehow in one case the cutting-scene concluded, it DID have ammo, and so weird.

ix)Lack of salvage. If you are in the middle of a cut-scene, your but option is to pause. You lot accept to wait until the cut-scene ends (which could take minutes) and get control back of Max earlier you can become into the options to exit or do annihilation else.

10)Quite frequently I was in a wrong spot and the aiming would Non piece of work. Gun only shot directly up.

3/10 Almost hating this game every bit much as "Avatar: The Game"

It'due south a fine game equally long as you don't telephone call it a Max Payne game

Warning: Spoilers

I dear the first ii Max Payne games. The game play was innovative and nonetheless a blast to play and when information technology comes to story and characters they're right upward there with the likes of Metallic Gear Solid and The Last of Us. That's how skilful they are and are some of the best that Neo Noir has to offer in whatever medium. Then when I got effectually to Max Payne 3, I figured it could notwithstanding work despite having a different studio making it. Dan Houser wrote both this and Ruby Dead Redemption and RDR is an astonishing western game with a great story, a compelling main character (who too goes into bullet time) with interesting side characters so I figured if anybody could have the mantel from Sam Lake, Houser would be the right guy to exercise it... and then I played the game

A lot of fans hate this game and say it doesn't even feel similar a Max Payne game and yeah information technology's hard for me to contend with them. It feels like R* simply made this game then they could go on the rights to the character but before I talk almost what I hate about this game, let me talk about what I do similar about this game The graphics are proficient and the controls are good. The music by Health is absurd, it makes you lot feel like you're going mad in a cluttered world. It'south squeamish to hear the Max Payne theme and James McCaffrey as Max again.

So there'due south everything else. Offset of, who the hell idea it was a good idea to put a cover arrangement in a Max Payne game?! Max Payne is suppose to play like a John Woo picture, retrieve of whatsoever heroic bloodshed film and anything inspired by that genre, exercise the characters always duck and embrace while conserve ammo throughout near of the shootout? No they get out guns a' blazing. Is information technology realistic? No merely it's not suppose to be and that the first strike with this game is trying to brand Max Payne more realistic which makes no sense at all. Is Max Payne gritty? Yes. Realistic? God no! While I said the graphics were expert. I hate the art management. Instead of those awesome comic book panels, we get these annoying cake transitions with random words that pop up in some attempt to make it feel like a comic only instead makes me experience like I'm watching either 24 or a 60s spy show with these transitions. Plus the cut-scenes can't be skipped (great, I get a terrible story and I can't fifty-fifty skip them) At present lets get to the story and characters... ugh. The only graphic symbol that's remotely expert here is Max himself but even he has been stripped downward. Max in this game does nothing but drink and complain about how much he hates everything and wants to die which is such a far cry from the absurd poetic bad ass of the first ii games who was proactive and never gave up and could even smile and joke every now once more.

The rest of these "characters" aren't worth mentioning cause there's nothing to them other than being these shallow rich people stereotypes. Non even Max cares about whatsoever of these people so why the hell should I? (Remember characters like Mona Sax, Vladamir Lem, Vinnie Gognitti? Hey, I miss those guys already).

It's and so sad to accept a game named later on the main character nonetheless the story doesn't accept anything to do with him. No kidding, the only reason Max is in this game is because the bad guys know of his violent past and they set him up to exist the fall guy. You lot could literally put any other activity hero in Max'southward identify and the story wouldn't change in the slightest. What made the stories in the first two games worked every bit well every bit Crimson Dead Redemption was that information technology was personal for both Max Payne and John Marston. At that place was a drive that made you want to meet information technology to the end. Here information technology feels more similar homework to become to the cease of the story

Are y'all starting to see why I think this game was but made for marketing reasons? This should tell you more anything that there shouldn't have been a Max Payne 3 considering Max'south story is over. At the end of Max Payne 2 (and this isn't a spoiler so don't worry) Max says "I had a dream of wife. She was dead but information technology was alright" that's all you need to know that his arc is consummate, everything got wrapped up at the terminate of MP2 merely Rockstar just had to keep it going for, especially when Max says that never truly got over his wife's death in this game. Ugh

Then if R* was going to modify and then much to the point that it doesn't fifty-fifty experience like a Noir comic book John Woo film hybrid and then why call it Max Payne at all? Why non but make a dissimilar game and call it Rockstar's Human of Fire or something (Seriously this feels about as much like a Max Payne game as taking Spike Spiegel, throwing him into the world of Black Lagoon, shave his head and calling it Cowboy Bebop 2) and if they had to call it Max Payne why non but reboot it? You at least wouldn't make fans of they get-go 2 angry by pretending that it has annihilation to practice with them

So aye if y'all've never play a Max Payne game before you'll probably like this game fine just if you've played the first 2 already and love them similar I do and so don't bother with this one. Finish MP2 and leave it at that

P.S. There's also no nightmare sequences in this game which sucks
